The challenge appears simple enough: Get classified ads in front of a local audience in a creative way so buyers can find sellers and complete the sale. But the marketplace has changed dramatically over the past 15 years and continues to get more complex and confusing by the day.
As Borrell Associates looked at suburban and community newspapers, the landscape was even tougher to read. The breadth and diversity of SNA-member newspapers makes it difficult to cast a broad consensus over the classified arena that’s applicable to any one newspaper. In that spirit, Borrell has put together a report that takes a look at the aggregate ad-spending for local suburban and community classified verticals with an outlook on where they believe the market is headed.
