The Local Media Foundation, LMA’s audacious cousin, serves as the innovation arm of the association. The training division provides the most advanced digital training in the industry in areas such as analytics, digital sales, social prospecting, Google AdWords certification, and much more. To date, more than 2,000 local media executives have participated in one or more of these training programs. The Foundation also creates and produces the annual Innovation Missions and the monthly Local Media Interactive Alliance reports (research and case studies on emerging trends and new business models). A separate board of directors, many with strong digital, IT, and pure play backgrounds, provide oversight and direction.
